40 YEARS AFTER THE MANIFEST OF AMSTERDAM
Book Rationale and Instructions for Chapter Authors
The Center for Advanced Studies in Integrated Conservation (CECI) -in association with the Master of Urban Development (MDU) of the Federal University of Pernambuco, the School of Education of the Murdoch University (Perth, Australia), and the School of Architecture of the University of Texas at Austin- is pleased to invite researchers, practitioners, and experts in cultural heritage conservation to submit short papers and essays for discussion, intended toward composing the e-book 40 YEARS AFTER THE MANIFEST OF AMSTERDAM. The deadline for submission is 10 August 2015.
The entities associated convene researchers and cultural heritage conservation experts built to submit within 60 (sixty) days from the day 30 May 2015 to 10 August 2015, to submit articles aiming at building the book (e-book) on 40 YEARS AFTER THE MANIFEST OF AMSTERDAM.
The publication will accept articles according to the following standards discriminated that will be subject to evaluation of the Committee Editorial CECI / ASSOCIATED to Book Edit “40 years after Manifesto of Amsterdam “or ad hoc referee when appropriate. No already published papers in national or International journals will be accepted, as well as those who are in disagreement with the book publishing standards.
The focus of the book is to promote analyses and reflections on the Manifest/Declaration of Amsterdam and its repercussions on the preservation of built cultural heritage.
The publication will include papers tackling this main theme under the following, though not limited to, sub-thematic areas:
(I) – Conflicts between authenticity, integrity, and significance
(II) – Integrated conservation – theory and practice
(III) – Education as a component of citizenship building
(IV) – Public policy – trends of patrimonialization
